Terms and Conditions

Terms of Service: The Pastime WoodWorks Commitment

By using this website and engaging in our services, you agree to the following Terms of Service, which are centered on our commitment to craftsmanship, transparency, and direct personal communication. These terms are designed to connect our high-touch, consultative sales process with the legal requirements of an e-commerce platform.

The Consultative Sales Process

Unlike mass-market retailers, Pastime WoodWorks often utilizes a “Call to Negotiate” model to ensure fair pricing and accurate specifications.

Negotiated Agreements:
Any price, timeline, or specification agreed upon during a phone consultation or Google Meet session constitutes the binding agreement for that specific order. These terms will be confirmed in writing through an online invoice or contractual agreement.

Accuracy of Information:
We strive for accuracy in all digital descriptions; however, the final specifications confirmed during direct consultation take precedence over website listings.

Custom Commissions & Deposits

Work Authorization:
Production begins only after the required initial deposit (typically 50%) has been received.

Commitment to Materials:
Once materials have been sourced and cuts have been made for a custom piece, the deposit becomes non-refundable to cover costs incurred.

Shipping, Local Delivery, & Risk of Loss

Delivery Terms:
We offer national shipping as well as local delivery or workshop pickup. Risk of loss or damage transfers to the customer upon delivery of the item to the carrier or upon local hand-off.

Inspection Period:
In alignment with our “Make It Right” Policy, customers are asked to inspect their item immediately upon arrival. Any discrepancies or transit-related damage must be reported via phone or email within 48 hours of receipt to ensure a timely resolution.

Intellectual Property & Handcrafted Nature

Unique Characteristics:
You acknowledge that wood is a natural medium. Variations in grain, knots, texture, and color are inherent characteristics of handcrafted work and are not considered defects.

Design Ownership:
Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, Pastime WoodWorks retains ownership rights to any custom designs created during the consultation and design process.

Dispute Resolution Through Communication

In the spirit of our “Make It Right” philosophy, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any disputes through direct, good-faith communication (via phone or Google Meet) before pursuing external legal, financial, or third-party mediation.
